How can business mentoring through TAB's peer advisory board help me?
A peer advisory board is similar to an informal board of directors. Each month you’ll meet with your peer advisory board to share your experiences and expertise in a business mentoring environment for the benefit of the group. The result of these business mentoring sessions is honest, objective feedback to your most challenging business and executive development issues. During these invaluable business mentoring sessions, business owners typically discover incredible opportunities to grow their business and enhance the executive development of their teams. The feedback from fellow owners in a business mentoring environment can literally change your perspective on your business—in turn allowing you to become more successful and to better enjoy your life. The business mentoring meetings are led by experienced facilitators trained in the TAB process. Because we understand that every business has unique needs, your TAB business coach/facilitator may offer a number of business consulting and executive development coaching services, as needed.

Yes. TAB membership gives you the tools and support of an international organization—with the personal touch of local board members. The Alternative Board is located in over 1,000 cities worldwide, which gives you access to thousands of entrepreneurs, business owners and business experts. At your monthly board meetings, you’ll focus on idea and knowledge sharing in a business mentoring environment with business owners in your community.
Who will be my fellow TAB Board members?
In order to qualify for membership, each board member must be the prime decision-maker within their firm. TAB Board members lead companies that don’t compete with other members of their board or maintain in a key vendor relationship with another member of the board. This ensures that you'll receive expert business mentoring and executive development advice from individuals with a proven success record.
How will TAB help improve my company?
TAB Board members are from non-competing businesses and are not locked into your way of thinking. They can help you think outside the box. During these business mentoring sessions, members will learn to view situations from a broader perspective and avoid mistakes by learning how peers solved similar problems. The diversity of backgrounds on each peer advisory board provides between 200-300 years of combined experience on each TAB Board, which will allow each member's executive development team to accelerate its learning curve on the opportunities and challenges facing your company.
How much does it cost to become a member of TAB?
The Alternative Board is a membership organization offering a variety of levels of membership, designed to enhance your executive development. To get a better idea of costs, contact your local TAB office. They’ll spend time listening to your business and personal challenges and goals. Then, they’ll customize a membership program that works for your budget.
Who is the TAB-Certified Facilitator?
Each TAB Board is led by an experienced businessperson who is an expert in key areas of operating a business. Each facilitator has either operated a successful business or been a consultant to leaders of companies for at least 7 years.
What is the role Of the TAB-Certified Facilitator?
Aside from facilitating the monthly board meeting, the TAB-Certified Facilitator will meet with each member for private coaching sessions between the board meetings-and constantly monitor the progress you are making in accomplishing the goals you establish when you join the board. You'll discuss your goals, issues, and your executive development strategy and create an action plan to achieve your vision. Additionally, the facilitator assists in helping the board prioritize and sequence your strategies into a logical planning process, as well as holding you accountable for the implementation of strategies recommended by the board and accepted by you to improve your business.
But my business is unique, how is business mentoring going to help with my product or service?

Membership in TAB is by invitation only. In addition to being the decision-maker, you must be committed to improving your business. We conduct a personal interview/initial coaching session in your office to determine your business experience and establish your willingness to assist others. Additionally, each existing board member must be in favor of inviting you to join, as you will be serving on their business mentoring team.
